Technical Project Manager

Job description
We’re looking for a Technical Project Manager with good technical and communication skills to take the lead on one of our marquee accounts, based from our London offices in Camden, as well as supporting heavily with aspects of new business and smaller projects across different accounts. This role will report in to the UK Business Director and the Polish Business Lead. 
The Role & Responsibilities
As an experienced and confident technical project manager, we would expect you to:

  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of our client’s businesses, customers, markets and competitors, plus an understanding of the client’s internal issues, processes and policies
  • Drive client strategy across a set portfolio of accounts, both in the UK and internationally
  • Demonstrate the ability to communicate and build relationships with senior level client stakeholders and colleagues
  • Demonstrate ability to lead cross functional teams to deliver clients requirements: both internal and external
  • Proactively manage direct lines both upwardly and downwards and ensure visibility of work and priorities at all times
  • Responsible for ensuring an outstanding level of service to retain and grow all customer accounts, taking responsibility for the quality of work carried out by all team members and ensuring the agency has the correct level of skills to grow the account
  • Identify and establish processes to ensure maximum (operational) efficiency within the portfolio of accounts as well as within the MakoLab business
  • Be able to create a client brief from conversations and meetings with both the client and allagency group, and create the brief to a highly technical level to hand over to our Polish teams.
  • Work with the Business Director, to actively propose and help implement new and innovative strategies to meet and exceed the department’s overall revenue and profit targets
  • Identify, propose and lead new business and revenue opportunities within your portfolio of accounts, working with either the Business Director or Account Manager
  • Demonstrate understanding of all financial workings for the portfolio of accounts from client budgets, billing to forecasting, resource allocation and burn reports and understand the impact of these within the agency (P&L, team growth etc.)
  • Be able to work with traffic and resource management to be able to ensure there are no issues within the ability to deliver work
  • Be forward thinking – identify any potential issues and opportunities, and be able to act on these.
  • Be an active member of the all-agency team and integrate with other businesses as a part of the agency mix

Please note: You will be required to work from our client site in Rickmansworth at least 2 days a week.


  • This role would suit someone who is a self-starter and has experience of working within small, nimble teams.

  • Good presentation skills, and comfortable working as part of dynamic teams
  • Experience of managing international clients
  • Knowledge of both Agile and Waterfall project management approaches. Agile certifications are a plus.
  • A valid passport, as there will be regular travel
  • Proficiency in the full MS Office Suite (including MS Project – or alternative software)

Nice to have

  • HTML, CSS, JS and SQL skills are a plus
  • As well as this, any knowledge in ASP.NET and C# is beneficial
  • The ability to use Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Experience of using tools such as Axure
  • Experience of working in the Automotive sector
