We are seeking a Senior Platform Engineer with strong expertise in Kong Konnect to join our Platform Engineering team. This role focuses on enabling self-service API management, governance, and observability across the organization.
The ideal candidate will also bring hands-on experience with Kubernetes and infrastructure in AWS and/or Azure, helping to scale and operate the API platform across hybrid cloud environments.
Responsibilty
- Kong support and operation
- Deployment and configuration using the admin API via Bamboo plans
- Infrastructure management (on premise and cloud)
- Ensuring the proper operation of Kubernetes clusters in all environments
- Provide guidance on using Kong features and best practices within the organization
- Assist in onboarding of new application teams and guide them in using Kong effectively
- 3+ years of experience with Kong Gateway, including at least 1 year with Kong Konnect in production environments
- Experience working as part of a platform engineering or infrastructure team
- Strong knowledge of API management, REST and microservices architecture
- Kubernetes experience is strongly recommended, including managing services and ingress through Kong Gateway
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Helm and GitOps practices
- Understanding of identity and security protocols including OAuth2, OpenID Connect and JWT
- Strong scripting or automation experience (e.g., Bash, Python)
