She has been running MakoLab’s thirty-strong Front-End team since November 2019, but she joined us in 2013 as a project manager in our Automotive Software Solutions department, where she collaborated with Renault Polska and then with Renault East. If someone is in trouble, friend or stranger, she will never “pass by on the other side”. She is unusually sensitive, engaged, empathic and brimming with energy. At Insights, we were curious to find out how people on her team see their manager, Katarzyna (Kasia) Kłosek…
Next, we talked to Kasia herself. She’s such a modest person that it seems she’d prefer less enthusiastic praise. Sorry, Kasia, but at Insights, we don’t think that’s in the least bit feasible!
What can you tell us about yourself, Kasia?
Well, there’s the fact that I wound up in IT completely by chance! While I was still at university, I bumped into a friend who was looking for help to get his small IT company going. That’s where learned the basics of project management in the sector. Then I came to MakoLab. When the post of front-end team manager came up temporarily, I had the chance of taking on the role. It wasn’t easy to start with, but I don’t regret the decision. I wound up with a brilliant team and I’ve met some fantastic people. What I love most about the job is the contact with people! I have the opportunity of collaborating with all MakoLab’s business areas and that makes the ‘human factor’ is a constant in my life. It’s not always easy and it’s not always fun, but I always have the sense that it’s worthwhile because we’re all going for the same goal.
And outside work?
Above all, my private life is about my family. My husband, my daughter, the cat, the dog… all that’s missing is an aquarium! I like spending time with my friends at dance classes, I play squash and I love watching good detective series.
There’s more though, isn’t there? It would hard not to notice that you’re very actively engaged in campaigns to help not only people in need, but animals, as well…
I’m grateful for what I have in life and I don’t want for anything, even though we all actually have something to grumble about. When I see people or animals suffering from harm, I simply have to help. That’s how I was brought up…
We don’t know about you, but we certainly wouldn’t grumble if we were on Kasia’s team!
