MakoLab entered six teams for the Poland Business Run charity event. The thirty members of staff pounded the roads last Sunday in aid of an honourable cause, supporting people who are physically disabled and women who have undergone a mastectomy.
Before the pandemic, Poland Business Run was a moment of integration for MakoLab. This time, even though there was no company get-together in one place and we were unable to cheer each other on, the event is still inherently and extraordinarily powerful.
Although the majority of our thirty runners were men, women made up eighty per cent of some of the five-person teams. Looking at the podium, we have to admit that we are certainly champions when it comes to turning the run into a way of achieving other highly worthy goals simultaneously! The MakoLabbers optimised their time by engaging in family activities in tandem with the run... some exercised their dogs at an accelerated tempo, while others took their walks in their neighbourhoods at double time and lovers of mountains shifted into prestissimo as they tackled the peaks. There was no lack of contestants who decided to set new records, either!
Congratulations to Łukasz Kubala, our head of financial software solutions, who can unhesitatingly be named our fastest competitor, running four kilometres in sixteen minutes, thirty-four seconds!
In total, the MakoLab teams ran approximately twelve hours, earning almost PLN 3,500 for the Fundacja Poland Business Run. A huge round of applause for each and every one of them!
