From static content to guided conversations: Introducing AvatarSpark. Rethinking digital engagement

Organisations continue to invest in digital content — videos, documentation, FAQs, and training materials. However, engagement with these formats remains limited. Linear video completion rates typically range between 20–30%, while written materials are often skipped altogether.

At the same time, expectations have shifted. Users increasingly look for guided, interactive, and personalised experiences that help them reach answers quickly, without navigating complex structures. This shift is driving a new category of solutions — one that combines structured content, interactivity, and measurable engagement.

A partnership to enable interactive communication

MakoLab has partnered with NovumSpark to introduce AvatarSpark — a platform designed to transform static content into interactive, conversation-driven experiences. Instead of presenting information in a fixed sequence, AvatarSpark enables organisations to guide users through structured interactions, adapting content dynamically based on their choices.

From website to conversation

The AvatarSpark experience is embedded directly into the website, becoming part of the digital journey rather than a separate tool.

As shown above, the avatar appears as a lightweight, non-intrusive widget, allowing users to engage when relevant.
Instead of searching through pages, users can start a guided interaction immediately.

Fast deployment and extended access to knowledge

One of the practical advantages of AvatarSpark is the speed at which content can be deployed and made accessible.

By leveraging the AI Creator, organisations can transform:

  • internal documentation
  • knowledge base articles
  • operational procedures
  • product materials

into structured, interactive experiences within minutes.

This enables access to information that is often:

  • not available on public websites
  • difficult to navigate in internal systems
  • fragmented across multiple sources

As a result, AvatarSpark acts not only as a communication layer, but also as a structured interface to organisational knowledge, accelerating access to relevant information for both customers and employees.

Guided journeys instead of static navigation

Once activated, the interaction becomes structured and decision-based.

Users are presented with clear options — for example:

  • exploring services
  • understanding specific use cases
  • initiating contact

This approach replaces:

  • complex navigation paths
  • generic landing pages
  • static FAQ structures

with guided journeys tailored to user intent.

How AvatarSpark works

1. Structured interaction model

At the core of AvatarSpark is a conversation tree, where each step represents a logical part of the interaction.

Users move through this structure by selecting options, ensuring that:

  • content remains relevant
  • unnecessary information is avoided
  • engagement is maintained throughout the journey

2. AI-supported content generation

At the core of AvatarSpark is a combination of AI components, including large language models (LLMs), which support both content generation and optimisation.

These capabilities enable the platform to:

  • analyse unstructured content and extract logical structures
  • generate conversational scripts aligned with user intent
  • adapt messaging for clarity and engagement
  • support continuous optimisation based on behavioural data

Rather than replacing human input, this layer augments it — enabling faster content creation while maintaining control over structure and messaging.

3. Multilingual communication at scale

AvatarSpark supports the creation of multiple language variants within the same interaction framework.

This allows organisations to:

  • deliver consistent communication across regions
  • reuse the same content structure with localised language layers
  • reduce the need for separate production processes

Combined with automated video generation and voice synthesis, this significantly reduces:

  • time required to prepare multilingual content
  • dependency on external production resources
  • operational costs associated with localisation

For organisations operating across markets, this enables a scalable and efficient approach to multilingual communication.

4. Measurable engagement

Unlike traditional formats, AvatarSpark provides full visibility into how users interact with content.

Organisations can track:

  • which paths users follow
  • where they drop off
  • how long they engage
  • which actions lead to conversion

This enables a shift from assumption-based optimisation to data-driven decision-making.

5. Continuous improvement

AvatarSpark includes an Intelligent Optimiser that analyses user behaviour and identifies areas for improvement.

Based on real interaction data, it suggests:

  • adjustments to messaging
  •  simplification of complex steps
  • improvements to engagement points

This creates a continuous improvement loop, where content evolves over time without requiring full redesigns.

Business impact across functions

AvatarSpark can be applied across multiple areas:

Marketing and Sales

  • interactive product presentations
  • guided lead qualification
  • improved conversion and shorter sales cycles

Customer Service

  • structured FAQ and troubleshooting flows
  • reduction in repetitive support requests
  • faster access to answers

HR and Training

  • onboarding journeys adapted to employee needs
  • improved completion rates
  • full visibility into engagement

These use cases demonstrate measurable improvements in efficiency and effectiveness.

Architecture and integration

AvatarSpark is designed as a web-native, modular solution, allowing it to integrate seamlessly into existing digital environments. From a technical perspective, the platform consists of:

  • a visual flow engine, managing conversation logic and user navigation
  • a media generation layer, responsible for avatar rendering, voice synthesis, and synchronised visual assets
  • an AI layer, supporting content generation, structuring, and optimisation
  • an analytics engine, capturing interaction data and behavioural patterns
  • an embedding layer, enabling deployment via lightweight scripts or web components

This architecture enables:

  • rapid deployment without heavy development effort
  • integration with existing websites, portals, and applications
  • scalability across use cases and environments

It also ensures that content creation, delivery, and optimisation remain decoupled yet connected, allowing organisations to iterate quickly while maintaining control.

Security and privacy by design

Introducing interactive technologies often raises questions around data usage and compliance. AvatarSpark has been designed with these considerations in mind.

  • No advertising profiling or cross-site tracking
  • Anonymous session identifiers (no personal data by default)
  • Technical data limited to security and diagnostics purposes
  • Data stored and processed in line with EU regulations (GDPR)
  • Clear separation of roles between site operator and platform provider

Technical data such as IP (in shortened form), device information, and event logs are processed strictly for security, integrity, and service performance purposes, based on legitimate interest.

Importantly:

  • the website owner remains the controller of user interaction data within their environment
  • AvatarSpark acts as processor where applicable, under a data processing agreement
  • This ensures that deployments remain compliant while maintaining full transparency and control.

Additionally, AvatarSpark is designed with a clear separation between content delivery and data processing responsibilities. The platform operates within a defined controller–processor model, ensuring that organisations retain control over user interaction data within their own environments. Technical mechanisms such as anonymised session identifiers, limited data retention, and strictly functional storage technologies (e.g. cookies used only for operational purposes) further support compliance with privacy regulations while maintaining service performance.

The value of the partnership

The collaboration between MakoLab and NovumSpark combines complementary capabilities.
