MakoLab hits record quarterly sales and notes a year-on-year rise in profitability

MakoLab achieved over PLN 20 million in sales for Q4 2024, which was 16% more than for the same period in 2023 and a historical best for the company in terms of quarterly sales. The revenues for 2024 as a whole were slightly higher than for the previous year and the profitability indicators improved significantly.

In its Q4 2024 report, MakoLab announced record quarterly sales of PLN 20.7 million, a 16% increase on the same period in 2023. The company closed sales for 2024 at PLN 72,332,000, representing a slight increase in comparison with the preceding year.

Annual profitability indicators improved significantly. The EBITDA result was PLN 5,857,000, compared with PLN 5,376,000 for 2023, and the net profit was PLN 4,039,000, compared with PLN 2,174,000 for 2023.

2024 was a challenge-filled year for MakoLab, just like 2023, but we closed it with gratifying financial results. First and foremost, I’m very happy with the sales for the final quarter. After a weaker initial six months, our sales increased in comparison to 2023, which gave us the final result. Our cost management was effective and we can take pride in the satisfying profitability indicators at the end of the year. At the same time, we expanded our offering with new services grounded in artificial intelligence technologies and tools. I’d like to thank our clients for the trust they’ve shown in us over the past twelve months. I’m well aware that the current, more difficult business environment is also affecting their sectors and I’m all the happier that it hasn’t had a negative impact on our collaboration. The whole MakoLab team also deserves appreciation. The results we’ve achieved are the outcome of the work and commitment of all our 270 members of staff.

The company’s quarterly report highlighted two innovative deployments created for a joint Kruba Group and Renault Polska project, Renew Factory. One is a module that leverages artificial intelligence (AI) to identify vehicle damage shown in photographs and the other is a mobile application for verifying a used vehicle’s technical status and generating a Digital Used Car Certificate. Both have led to significant improvements in the efficacy and efficiency of Renew Factory’s processes.

MakoLab also produced a proof of concept commissioned by a leading European premium car manufacturer for a management solution that handles roles, permissions and data access for users of multiple, coexisting IT systems. The tool solves the problem of controlling permission granting in complex, multi-system environments, which is particularly crucial to ensuring their security.

In addition, the company announced marketing and sales activities relating to AI-based services. Despite the enormous popularity of the term ‘AI’ itself, clients are still treading cautiously when it comes to implementation and are looking for AI-appropriate business applications.

In the final quarter of 2024, we held a two-day conference, Mako AI Days. The event was proof positive that clients expect us to launch initiatives for exchanging knowledge and experience and examining AI from a multi-faceted standpoint. The discussions and talks during the conference have already led to some new business ventures and this year, we’re going to be organising similar events much more often, seeking inspiring new fields for collaboration with our clients and partners.
