Functional assumptions of analytics tools
The basic assumption behind online analytics is to collect, filter and categorise data in a way that allows for discovering the users’ preferences and ways in which they navigate you web pages. As in all fields related to the gathering of data, its interpretation is essential. The analysis of traffic, the preparation of recommendations and optimising implementations for our clients – these operations are the basis for the evaluation of efficiency of online activities. Implementations alone, however, are not enough – it is also crucial to integrate data from different sources in order to draw valid conclusions from an analysis.
As in other similar fields, data analysis is a continuous process. Traffic and user-behaviour change dynamically, hence the importance of constant analyses and optimisations, based on up-to-date information, as well as split tests.
