MakoLab wins a new client from the Toyota Group

Wednesday, 30th June, 2021
Another Toyota Group company has joined MakoLab’s client portfolio. Toyota Insurance Services, which represents the concern’s insurance competence centre, is part of MS&AD Holdings, a Japanese organisation comprising the seven largest insurers in the world. It operates on the European market as Aioi Nissay Dowa Europe. MakoLab also works closely with Toyota Motor Europe and Toyota Financial Services.
Our first project for this new client was the integration of the Toyota Insurance Services range of insurance offers with the Used Vehicles Platform, one of Toyota Motor Europe’s largest ventures, developed in collaboration with MakoLab’s Financial Software Solutions Department. While the possibility of reserving cars online was being implemented, Toyota Motor Europe was using three independent apps developed by MakoLab; a financial simulator, an insurance calculator and a universal tax calculator.

The company considered it vital for users to be able to reserve a car with financing suited to their needs and an appropriately selected insurance offer. An equally crucial requirement was for the price to include all the applicable charges and taxes related to the dealer’s location and the type of vehicle. A financial function for the accessories chosen by the user for their car was also added.

Work on the project necessitated the integration of the capabilities available on the Toyota Motor Europe platform in order to meet the requirements of Toyota Financial Services and Toyota Insurance Management.
We know that our new client is pleased with our work and they’ve already placed a new order with us. This time it’s related to insurance calculators for new cars. We also began working even more closely with Toyota Motor Europe while we were extending application with calculation formulae for charges and taxes and we’re engaged in another project connected with expanding the Used Car Platform to cover more European countries, as well.
